Julian Sol Jordan is a 24-year-old multidisciplinary filmmaker and musician from Dallas, Texas. His work blends documentary-like visuals and narrative techniques with a personal, emotional style. With a background in fast, intuitive editing, cinematography, and still photography, he brings clarity and feeling to every project. Julian has experience in feature film editing and production, along with a wide range of work in music videos and creative promo. Julian is also a YoungArts winner in film, and an Eagle Scout.
His most recent project, REAL LIFE, is a long-form essay film he crafted completely alone, built from vérité footage, narration, and archival material–a meditation on memory and growing up. It was featured in IndieWire’s Future of Filmmaking initiative, highlighting Julian as one of the new voices reshaping independent cinema. In addition, he is also a part of the indie music duo Sunrise Academy, whose songs have gained a viral following online. Across everything he makes, Julian aims to create work that feels honest, alive, and made with intention.
Julian is currently working on a number of projects, including upcoming films and launching Sunrise Academy's first album.
